Ministry of Empowerment depends on volunteers to share their skills, interests, or talents that will enable us to meet the needs of others.
We are recruitingvolunteerswho can make a vital contribution to many aspects of community life.
Everyone can volunteer.
All you need is some energy, spare time, and a wish to use these for something worthwhile.
WHY VOLUNTEER Volunteering increases self-confidence. You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity. And the better you feel about yourself, the more likely you are to have a positive view of your life and future goals.
Volunteering provides a sense of purpose. Older adults, especially those who have retired or lost a spouse, can find new meaning and direction in their lives by helping others. Whatever your age or life situation, volunteering can help take your mind off your own worries, keep you mentally stimulated, and add more zest to your life.
I HAVE A DISABILITY. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER? People with disabilities or chronic health conditions can still benefit greatly from volunteering. Whether due to a disability, a lack of transportation, or time constraints, many people choose to volunteer their time via phone or computer.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD YOU VOLUNTEER? Volunteering doesn’t have to take over your life to be beneficial. In fact, research shows that just two to three hours per week, or about 100 hours a year, can confer the most benefits—to both you and your chosen cause. The important thing is to volunteer only the amount of time that feels comfortable to you. Volunteering should feel like a fun and rewarding hobby, not another chore on your to-do list.
HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY There are numerous volunteer opportunities available. The key is to find a position that you would enjoy and are capable of doing. It’s also important to make sure that your commitment matches the Ministry of Empowerment’s needs.
Ask yourself the following:
*Would you like to work with adults, children, animals, or remotely from home? *Do you prefer to work alone or as part of a team? *Are you better behind the scenes or do you prefer to take a more visible role? *How much time are you willing to commit? *What skills can you bring to a volunteer job? *What causes are important to you? *Consider your goals and interests
You will have a richer and more enjoyable volunteering experience if you first take some time to identify your goals and interests. Think about why you want to volunteer. What would you enjoy doing? The opportunities that match both your goals and your interests are most likely to be fun and fulfilling.

Which aspect of the event did you find most useful (and why)?
I loved the intimacy of testimonies as it’s good to hear people’s struggles and how they overcome them.
Each session was valuable.
Guest speaker, Dr. Donna Sherwood, talk and PowerPoint presentation on “Designated Survivor” were inspirational, informative, and welcoming.
The delivery of her talk was expressive and motivating and her words felt tangible that I was moved.
There were many things that i found useful in this event.
I found the retreat a very relaxing place to be. The room was very comfortable. The speaker was very good in the way that she presented and encouraged everyone to interact with each other.
I enjoyed everything especially when Dr Donna explained the different circumstances that would hinder us from moving forward and reminded us that we are designated to survive.
The praise, worship, and fellowship sessions allow time to really engage in giving thanks and adoration to Our God.
The teaching session was very inspiring and motivational.
Spiritually connected.
Well-paced transfer between sessions and inclusive for a wide range of ages and abilities.
All areas were useful. It met my physical and spiritual needs.

Morning Glory was truly a Morning of Glory. To be honest, as I got ready for bed and gazed at the clock, it was 2 am. The thought that I will only be having just under 4 hours of sleep crossed my mind, but I hastily decided to exchange that thought and ask the Lord to wake me in time for the 6 am morning sessions.
I was woken up with the song, His Presence is Heaven to me. Yes, for a few seconds I felt tired but I got up with a heart of thanksgiving, giving thanks to the Lord for waking me to see another brand new day. Thankful, that my mother, though on the bed of affliction, weary and worn was still breathing the breath of life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praying and with a heart of gratitude, I asked the Lord to lead the session and I can truly say that the heavy burden of tiredness that could have quickly turned into complaining or mourning, was exchanged for His burden that is light because of His joy, peace, patience, and goodness for those that are ” …the called according to His purpose.” Never sure, who would log into the Early Morning Glory session but one thing I am sure of is that whosoever joined the platform it was our Heavenly Father’s divine will.
I look back and think, when Jesus said that “my yoke is easy” could be, “my service or burden is easy.”
One sister encouraged us and said, “Be careful to whom or what we are yoked to.”
I am so glad that because of the anointing my heavy burden was taken away and now I am no longer yoked to sin but to righteousness. Walking now on the King’s Highway.
