2023 SPRING RETREAT

The weekend beginning from Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th April 2023, a maximum of twelve ladies will be attending a weekend retreat at Windmill Farm in Oxfordshire.

On Saturday, you are invited to the Spring Retreat Day Conference commencing from 10.00 am – 6.30 pm approx.

During this time, we will be sharing and delivering activities relating to personal challenges and experiences of this Christian journey based on the story of Abigail who was faithful, confident, had a listening ear, and was a problem solver using wise strategies. Our Guest Speaker will be Dr. Joan Myers OBE

Dr Joan Myers OBE

Some years ago, Dr. Joan Myers attended one of the Ministry of Empowerment conferences. She was very humble and at the time I really didn’t know much about her. However, when she spoke, you knew and felt that she had an anointed upon her life.

For some months it kept on dropping in my spirit that we should invite her to speak at the Spring Retreat. I delayed and delayed then picked up the courage to give her a call. Praise the Lord, she accepted the invitation to be with us on Saturday 22nd April 2023.

Since then I found out that she is a much sought-after anointed and inspirational speaker in England, the USA, the West Indies, and Africa. She is also the Pastor at REhoboth International Christian Centre in Croydon.

Register your attendance today. Don’t be disappointed. We have limited places.

We pray that at the end of the retreat that everyone will have a greater understanding of their self-worth.

July 2022 Morning Glory

Ephesians 6: 10-24

Why do we need to be equipped?

  • To be strong in the Lord
  • To stand against the wiles of the devil
  • To withstand the evil days
  • To quench all the fiery darts of the wicked

How to be Equipped

  • Gird ourselves with truth
  • Wear the breastplate of righteousness
  • Spread the gospel of peace
  • Wear the helmet of salvation
  • Live in the Word of God

Let us, therefore…..

  • Pray always
  • Make supplication in the Spirit
  • Watch with all perseverance and supplication

Why?

  • That utterance may be given
  • That we speak with boldness
  • We are ambassadors of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

We are recruiting volunteers

Ministry of Empowerment depends on volunteers to share their skills, interests, or talents that will enable us to meet the needs of others.

We are recruiting volunteers who can make a vital contribution to many aspects of community life.

Everyone can volunteer.

All you need is some energy, spare time, and a wish to use these for something worthwhile.

WHY VOLUNTEER
Volunteering increases self-confidence. You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity. And the better you feel about yourself, the more likely you are to have a positive view of your life and future goals.

Volunteering provides a sense of purpose. Older adults, especially those who have retired or lost a spouse, can find new meaning and direction in their lives by helping others. Whatever your age or life situation, volunteering can help take your mind off your own worries, keep you mentally stimulated, and add more zest to your life.

I HAVE A DISABILITY. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER?
People with disabilities or chronic health conditions can still benefit greatly from volunteering.   Whether due to a disability, a lack of transportation, or time constraints, many people choose to volunteer their time via phone or computer.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD YOU VOLUNTEER?
Volunteering doesn’t have to take over your life to be beneficial. In fact, research shows that just two to three hours per week, or about 100 hours a year, can confer the most benefits—to both you and your chosen cause. The important thing is to volunteer only the amount of time that feels comfortable to you. Volunteering should feel like a fun and rewarding hobby, not another chore on your to-do list.

HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
There are numerous volunteer opportunities available. The key is to find a position that you would enjoy and are capable of doing. It’s also important to make sure that your commitment matches the Ministry of Empowerment’s needs.

Ask yourself the following:

*Would you like to work with adults, children, animals, or remotely from home?
*Do you prefer to work alone or as part of a team?
*Are you better behind the scenes or do you prefer to take a more visible role?
*How much time are you willing to commit?
*What skills can you bring to a volunteer job?
*What causes are important to you?
*Consider your goals and interests

You will have a richer and more enjoyable volunteering experience if you first take some time to identify your goals and interests. Think about why you want to volunteer. What would you enjoy doing? The opportunities that match both your goals and your interests are most likely to be fun and fulfilling.
