MINISTRY OF EMPOWERMENT 2021 THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time: They just have the heart (Elizabeth Andrew)
Thank you to all the Ministry of Empowerment Board Members and volunteers that have served over the past year and years.
Without your dedication and commitment, we would not have been able to achieve as much as we have.
Wishing you, our members, and supporters for your participation and contributions during 2021 to the Ministry of Empowerment.
Met volunteers from the Empower2Engage – Afternoon Tea sessions.

T.R.U.S.T. Cancer Support Group of Ministry of Empowerment
In March 2020, the Ministry of Empowerment (MoE) established T.R.U.S.T at the Wellness Centre in Croydon, a cancer support group, that supports, encourages and empowers people affected by cancer through various activities and events. It was following the disappointment of not being able to attend a cancer conference at Westminster that members of our community affected by cancer came together to form T.R.U.S.T
T.R.U.S.T (Trust, Respect, Unity, Strength and Togetherness) is a cancer support group providing practical and emotional support to people living with and affected by cancer. The group is open to everyone but has a particular focus on engaging with BAME and marginalised groups affected by cancer.
Having cancer is often one of the most stressful experiences in a person’s life. However, from feedback from our members, MoE has evidence that sharing can make a real difference and have a positive impact on people’s emotional wellbeing and ability to cope.
T.R.U.S.T Cancer Support Group supports anyone living with or affected by cancer, primarily those living in Croydon.
T.R.U.S.T aims to enable those affected by cancer to:
Cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by providing a safe place to share and work through feelings and challenges.
Learn from others facing similar situations.
Have access to professional and therapeutic empowerment and resilience sessions.

Coming Out Of Lockdown
Empower2Engage – Afternoon Tea
Empower2Engage (E2E) project of Ministry of Empowerment funded by LVP One Croydon, aims to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness experienced by over 55s, some of whom are living in sheltered accommodation, on their own or in households where they have no one to interact with others.
E2E project offers opportunities for those over the age of 55 years old to socialise, meet new people and develop friendships through twice a month ‘Afternoon Tea’ sessions.
