Desertion carries a maximum punishment of dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay, and confinement of five years.

For desertion during a time of war, however, the death penalty may be applied (at the discretion of the court-martial).

  1. Another brilliant session, looking at a character rarely examined. Orpah mentioned only a few times in scripture, demonstrated typical humanity in times of adversity, but also a lack of faith to stay on the journey you’ve started n not turn back.

  2. Just submitting a possible character 4 the court room in the near future:
    Miriam (Moses’ sister) charged with 1) insurrection 2) racism.
